FCT renews its support for the European Diamond Capacity Hub
Brussels, Belgium, 17 August 2026
The European Diamond Capacity Hub (EDCH) is pleased to announce that it has received additional financial support from the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT), reinforcing its shared commitment to advancing Diamond Open Access (OA) publishing in Europe.
Building on FCT's previous support, this funding further strengthens the collaboration between the EDCH and Portugal's National Diamond Capacity Centre, PUBIN, which is managed by FCCN, FCT's digital services, and the University of Minho.
"FCT is proud to support the European Diamond Capacity Hub as part of its broader commitment to Open Science and the development of sustainable scholarly communication infrastructures. Through our collaboration with the EDCH and the Portuguese National Diamond Capacity Centre, PUBIN, we seek to contribute to a more inclusive, high-quality, and community-governed publishing landscape, fostering cooperation and knowledge sharing across Europe."
The continued support from FCT will contribute to the EDCH's ongoing activities, including community engagement, training, outreach, and strengthening the advancement of services that power Diamond OA publishing.
“We are delighted to receive renewed support from FCT, which reflects the growing commitment to strengthening Diamond Open Access (OA). This continued support will help the EDCH to further develop services, build capacity, and connect the Diamond OA communities across Europe. We are particularly pleased to strengthen our collaboration with PUB IN and the Portuguese Diamond OA community as part of this wider European effort.”
— Pierre Mounier and Johan Rooryck, EDCH Co-coordinators
