EDCH Train-the Trainer course on Diamond OA publishing
Introduction
The EDCH Train-the-Trainer course helps you turn your Diamond OA expertise into training you can deliver in your own institution, country or community — while joining a growing EDCH community of practice.
What you will get out of this course
Throughout the course, you will create your own training material on your chosen topic in your language by following the full process of instructional design — from needs analysis and learning outcomes to production, promotion, delivery, and long-term upkeep.
You will also:
- Strengthen your instructional design skills needed to plan, structure and deliver effective training;
- Get hands-on with the online training tools — Moodle, H5P, BigBlueButton — and see the EDCH training platform from the inside, including what it takes to host your own content there;
- Build the confidence to handle challenging questions and advocate for Diamond OA publishing;
- Connect with other Diamond OA trainers across Europe, for further collaboration and keeping informed about the latest news, hot topics and initiatives in Diamond OA.
Who should attend
Editorial team members, librarians, research and publishing support staff and other professionals who are looking to adapt existing training resources to a new context, language or platform, or to design new training and get feedback from peers.
This course is not an introduction to Diamond OA itself, but a course on how to train on Diamond OA publishing. Prior knowledge of Diamond OA publishing topics is expected beforehand.
The course is open to applicants from across the European Research Area (ERA).
The course will be in English and participation and interaction in English will be expected.

The course is developed under the AEGIS-OA project, funded by Horizon Europe. The AEGIS-OA project is strategically designed to leverage and expand on the EDCH, built on outputs developed in DIAMAS and CRAFT-OA, as well as results from the PALOMERA project. It aims to integrate and build on these existing tools, services and resources and focus on upscaling, refining and streamlining them while aligning and collaborating with the ongoing projects, like ALMASI, to strengthen Diamond OA.
