Improving the Visibility of Diamond Open Access Publications: Webinar Materials
In June 2026, the EDCH hosted the webinar Improving the Visibility of Diamond Open Access Publications to discuss how we can collectively increase the visibility, discoverability, and impact of Diamond OA research. The webinar also introduced the AEGIS-OA project and the role it will play in developing and expanding existing EDCH services, including the Diamond Discovery Hub (DDH).
The webinar provided an opportunity to showcase tools and services that actively support Diamond OA discoverability, shared practical examples and use cases, and discussed how the community can work together to make Diamond OA research easier to find and access.
Strengthening Diamond OA discoverability
A key discussion point was the importance of discoverability for Diamond OA publications. Participants were introduced to tools and services designed to support visibility within the scholarly publication landscape, including the Guide to Scholarly Indexes and the Diamond Discovery Hub (DDH). These tools actively improve visibility and discoverability by maintaining an up-to-date index of trusted Diamond OA resources and connect authors and readers more efficiently and effectively.
Practical use cases
The webinar featured presentations from OpenEdition and the Electronic Journals Library (EZB), describing their own experiences and results from these services. Their presentations demonstrated how these tools and services and be used by diverse organisations to address common Diamond OA challenges, including the visibility and discoverability of research.
